Who am I?
Music has been a passion of mine ever since I picked up the guitar and clarinet at 10 years old. Over the years, I've picked up other instruments such as piano, ukulele, flute, trumpet, and my most recent addition - jaw harp! The clarinet just happens to be the instrument I love the most, which is why I've pursued both a Bachelor's and Master's in clarinet performance. Now my greatest passion is to share the clarinet and music with my students!
Six years and counting and hopefully many more to come! :)
Why You Should Learn From Me
I have two primary focuses with each student - to develop solid playing fundamentals and to establish a lifelong joy of music. My passion as an educator is to find ways in which my students connect the most with music, whether it be very technically specific (scales, music theory, finger technique, etc.) or something much broader (playing pop tunes, improving memory or coordination, etc.). I will provide resources for whatever aspect of music and the clarinet that interests you. If your goal is to perform with your church music group, play with friends, learn and perform a piece for a Solo and Ensemble competition, explore improvisation, improve confidence, just enjoy music, or pursue it as a career, etc., I am here to help you.
Overall, what I offer is a well-rounded musical experience that will provide you with the tools to play with proper technique to avoid injury, increase your creativity, and most of all: have fun!
Former Student Testimonials
Ashley Green is an amazing teacher. I was able to learn all the basics of the clarinet with her in a very short amount time. I can tell she loves teaching and has the patience for it. I definitely recommend her to anyone who is wanting to learn the clarinet.
Ashley is one of the most talented clarinetist I've heard. Whoever said "those who can't do, teach" has never met her. I know for a fact I wouldn't be as far along in my playing as I am now without her, and I owe it to her for having a successful audition. She is a sweet, wonderful person who can help you regardless of level. She always had something prepared for me to do and helped provide me with valuable tips and resources. If you want to further yourself as a musician, learn new skills, strengthen your playing, as well as make a fantastic friend, I would go to her without a doubt. :)
Ashley is fantastic. She is completely professional, always prepared and polite. Very easy to work with.
